Research project Rehabilitation of prosthesis users

«Patient Centered Rehabilitation of Prosthesis Users» is a new research project at OsloMet – metropolitan university that deals with mobility in the daily life of prosthesis users. Good mobility, ie. the ability to move purposefully and independently from one place to another is important for participation in society and quality of life. They therefore want to increase the focus on everyday challenges in the lives of people with leg amputations. In this study, they will develop new knowledge about prosthesis users’ activity level and mobility, as well as examine energy consumption during the performance of everyday activities.

Participation in a project involves one visit to the Movement Laboratory at OsloMet (located in the city center, close to Bislett Stadium), where several typically daily activities are carried out, e.g. vacuuming, window washing and stair climbing, while we measure oxygen uptake. The visit will last a total of approx. 2 hours.
